With offices in London and Cambridge, Culver Law offer a range of personal tax services to help you protect your finances and maximise your tax efficiency.
We are specialists in Taxation
Michael Culver is a Chartered Tax Adviser and has helped people save many thousands of pounds in tax.
Our teams in London and Cambridge offer personalised tax advice and a range of services which enable you to make informed decisions to manage your assets wisely. We can also provide detailed insights, reports and analysis of your circumstances based on your circumstances and requirements.
There is no point in having a tax solution in isolation. By that we mean, why save inheritance tax just to give yourself a capital gains tax bill. Or why save capital gains tax to give yourself a stamp duty, inheritance tax or income tax issue.
You can be confident that the advice we provide is based on many years of experience and will tell you what to do rather than what you could do.
Ad-hoc tax advice
We also recognise that you may only want the answer to a one-off question or scenario. For those one-off queries we offer a fixed fee service. As part of this, we will confirm your position and either check or provide you with calculations so you know how much tax is due or provide you with a direct answer to the question posed.
This service is useful for both professionals wanting to check they are providing accurate advice and individuals wanting confirmation of their circumstances and in most instances, our fee here is £180. We also offer a 3 working day turnaround period from the date payment is received.
We give meaningful advice, not just options. We recognise that when you instruct legal advisors you do so for advice on what you should do. If you wanted a long list of options you would simply ask an AI tool, Google, Siri or Alexa
Our main tax service however, requires an analysis of your circumstances, to see how we can save you tax in all aspects of your life and put your money to better use for you and your family. We provide a complex report confirming your current tax position and the steps you can take to reduce inheritance tax, capital gains tax and possibly even income tax.
Our Rates
Our typical tax reports consist of half an hour to establish your circumstances, 3 hours to prepare the report and 1 hour to discuss the report with you and help you move forward. The hourly rate charged here is £360 giving an average cost of £1,620.
Our clients consider this a worthy investment when the return is often saving them hundreds of thousands of pounds in tax.
We offer a 5 working day turnaround for our full tax report service from receipt of payment.
If you have a one-off query and would like to instruct us on this basis please complete the form below with as much detail as possible and make payment. If we need additional information we will request this from you separately before providing our advice.
If you would like to instruct us to prepare a tax report please download our client circumstances forms and return it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We will then provide you with our terms and conditions and upon acceptance of these and payment of the required deposit of £1,620 (as per our average cost for this service), we will provide you with our report within 5 working days.
All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT. If any third party payments are required (such as land registry fees) we will let you know and will require payment of these before incurring the same.

Or SDLT is in its simplest form a tax payable on the purchase of properties. However, if you make a gift of a property and the responsibility for the mortgage passes, SDLT can be payable.
Capital gains tax is payable whether you sell or give away an asset and can also be payable if an asset is destroyed and you receive an insurance payout.
