Culver Law Ltd is a niche law firm specialising in Wills, trusts and estate administration, Court of Protection services for vulnerable people, estate and tax planning services and wills and probate disputes.

Since its inception in late 2021 Culver Law has grown considerably and is a fast becoming an industry leader in private client services.

Our founder, Michael Culver was voted by his peers as the Industry Champion at the British Wills and Probate Awards in late 2021 and Culver Law won the Innovation and Transformation of the Year Award in 2024 whilst being shortlisted for the best place to work award in the same year.

We strive to provide exceptional client service whilst making our services accessible to all and being an incredible place for our employees to work.

Michael Culver is the founder and Managing Director of Culver Law Ltd, establishing the firm in October 2021. He provides specialist legal advice and services for high net worth private clients, especially in the areas of Estate planning, Wills, Estate Administration, Trusts, LPAs, Court of Protection and tax.

Michael has worked in the area of estate planning for over 20 years, has litigation experience as well as being a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), which enables him to offer comprehensive and tailored solutions for complex and sensitive matters.

Michael regularly acts as an independent administrator in complex disputes estates, as a professional attorney for those who want an experienced professional managing their affairs when they are no longer able to do so.

Michael is a highly experienced Court of Protection Deputy managing both property and financial affairs and health and welfare matters for clients with all sorts of conditions at varying stages of life. He has wide ranging experience of clients living with brain injuries, dementia and schizophrenia and has regularly been appointed to deal with difficult financial abuse cases.

On the disputes side Michael is often instructed to advise beneficiaries of trusts or estates and to bring actions against the personal representatives or trustees for mismanagement of the estate or trust in question.

Michael is well known in the Wills and Probate Industry as a result of his work with the Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for the Elderly). Michael has been a member of that organisation since 2008, was appointed to the main board of directors in 2018 and then served as chair of the organisation for 6 years between 2019 and 2025 overseeing the rebrand in that time. The Association of Lifetime Lawyers is an independent members organisation of lawyers in England and Wales that specialise in late-life law and law for the vulnerable.

In 2021 Michael was voted as the inaugural Industry Champion at the British Wills and Probate Awards.

Michael is also a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT).

Michael is passionate about delivering high-quality and ethical legal services that protect and empower my clients and their families whilst improving the standards of the legal profession as a whole.

In 2025 Michael joined the Advisory Boards at two organisations: Remember a Charity (an organisation that works to encourage legacy giving in Wills for Charitys across the UK) and Arken (a professional will drafting software provider).

Michael is also a professional Legal Trainer and is certified by the ICA to provide the same. He provides training of the STEP diploma for CLTI and lectures regularly for MBL, Legal Futures, the Association of Lifetime Lawyers, the Law Society, STEP and Professional Conferences.

In 2024 Michael launched the Advisors for Deaf Network to help make professional services more accessible for the deaf community and since 2021 has been the chair of the vulnerable banking group. A coalition of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, STEP, the Law Society, the Professional Deputies Forum and Estate Search whose aim is to improve banking standards for vulnerable people and those acting as deputy, attorney, executor or trustee.

Michael is a published author having contributed chapters to various publications and in 2024 the Law Society published his book titled ‘Making Gifts of Assets - the legal considerations’.


Amy Wallhead

Amy joined Culver Law in March 2023 as Partner and Head of the Private Client Team. She advises on all aspects of non-contentious private client work, including Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning and Probate, and has particular expertise in advising older and vulnerable clients. Amy frequently drafts specialist Vulnerable Beneficiary Trusts and is highly regarded for her sensitive, client-focused approach.

Amy leads Culver Law’s services for the Deaf Community and is deeply passionate about improving accessibility within the legal profession. She works closely with organisations such as the British Deaf Association, DeafPLUS and other Deaf charities, and regularly delivers presentations to Deaf groups. She holds a Signature Level 6 Certificate in British Sign Language and is a founder of the Advisers for Deaf Network.

She has a strong interest in dementia and related illnesses, using her knowledge to support clients in remaining involved in decisions about their affairs for as long as possible. Amy is a longstanding Dementia Friends Ambassador and regularly delivers training to colleagues and professional contacts to help them better understand and meet the needs of their clients.

In February 2023, Amy became a Director of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers. She is a full member of STEP and holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients. Prior to joining Culver Law, Amy was recognised as a Rising Star Lawyer in The Legal 500.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys paddle boarding on local rivers and spending time with friends and family.


Rebecca De Winter

Rebecca is an Associate at Culver Law, having joined the firm in August 2024.

Rebecca is passionate about working within Court of Protection law. Rebecca has a particular interest in helping support vulnerable clients with Special Educational Needs and brain injuries and is currently working towards her Association of Lifetime Lawyers accreditation.

Rebecca has experience in a wide range of property and affairs matters, including those with complex care packages and high-value personal injury awards. She deals with all matters with empathy and compassion.

Prior to becoming a solicitor, Rebecca worked for a decade as a biologist in a large biotechnology company. To satisfy a long-held passion for the law, Rebecca undertook a career change. Rebecca completed a Graduate Law Diploma at the University of East Anglia for which she was awarded a Distinction. Following this, Rebecca undertook her Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice Course at BPP in Cambridge, graduating with Distinction.

Outside of work Rebecca enjoys skiing, baking, traveling and spending time with her family.

James joined Culver Law in January 2026 as the firm’s Practice and Operations Director.

Possessing both a Bachelors in Law and an MBA, James has over 20 years’ experience in the professional services sector working strategically and tactically on enhancing business performance, growth, communications, client relationship management, operations and administration. He has worked for a “Big Four” consulting and accountancy group as well as national and international law firms of various sizes, leading teams and working cross-functionally across a wide variety of departments and geographies.

James sits on the senior leadership team and is responsible for driving Culver Law’s success and evolution as a business, both in how it operates internally as well as how it performs for its clients.

Outside of work, James’ passions include family, tennis, health and fitness, stoicism, languages (specifically Spanish and French), personal development and supporting Aston Villa Football Club.


Rebecca De Winter

Russell joined Culver Law in December 2025 as a consultant bringing a wealth of experience with him gained from over 40 years on the solicitors roll both as a private client lawyer and leading a law firm.

During that time, he has served as the Managing Partner of medium sized law firm overseeing its growth and ultimately to a successful merger with IBB Law LLP in 2018.

As a seasoned private client lawyer, he has wide ranging experience of trusts, tax and estate planning, wills, administration of estates, powers of attorney and Court of Protection work. He served on the Panel of Deputies for a decade so has vast experience in advancing the needs of vulnerable clients.

Russell is keen to pass on his experience and knowledge to young lawyers as they make their way in their careers and has mentored several young professionals at various times. A number have gone on to become partners and senior associates in in highly regarded law firms.

Russell is keen to continue to spread his knowledge and experience to both clients and those working at Culver Law as he eases into a new phase of his career.

Outside of work Russell describes himself as a sports addict (more observing now than playing) and a lover of live theatre.

Linda is a Solicitor at Culver Law, having joined the Wills and Probate Disputes team.

Linda completed an LLM at the University of Westminster and following her two-year training contact, qualified in March 2022.

Linda advises on a range of inheritance disputes, including challenges to wills, executor conflicts and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1974.

Linda is dedicated to achieving the best and realistic outcome for clients, providing clear, practical advice during what is often a highly emotional and difficult time. With a compassionate approach, she works to support clients though the legal process so they can find resolution and move forward with confidence and understanding.

Outside of work, Linda enjoys trips to the theatre, plenty of dog walks and spending time with her family.

With two years of post-qualification experience, Samuel brings a compassionate and detail-oriented approach to his work, ensuring his clients receive practical and empathetic guidance.

Samuel is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for his clients, always striving to address their needs with professionalism and care. He is known for his ability to support clients through emotionally challenging situations and maintaining high standards in all aspects of his work. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys playing the guitar and martial arts.

Holly is a Chartered Legal Executive at Culver Law having joined the firm in February 2022 and qualified in February 2025. She started her career working in personal injury law, before moving into international contract law, and then Court of Protection work at a leading national firm in the West Country. She specialises in applications to the Court of Protection and other matters relating to the management of the property and financial affairs of mentally incapacitated persons. She also has experience dealing with clients’ properties overseas.

Her main strengths are her empathy and ability to explain things in an understandable manner. She enjoys a high level of client interaction whether via telephone, email or face to face. Holly strives to build long term relationships with clients and families with the aim to get to know them and their needs in order to assist in any way possible.

She grew up in France and is bilingual in English and French. In her free time, she enjoys spending time adventuring outdoors.

She obtained a History Degree from the University of Southampton and has completed her Conversion Course in Law and is now currently studying the SQE.

Prior to this, Sophie worked as a Paralegal at a law firm in Essex in the Private Client and Court of Protection Department. Her main strengths include her compassion for clients and her ability to solve problems as they arise.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys socialising with friends and family, travelling and watching the Formula 1 on the weekends.

Leah joined the Court of Protection team at Culver Law as a Solicitor in November 2025. Her legal journey began at university, where she obtained a First Class Law Degree, before going on to work as a paralegal in both Public Children Law and Private Family Law. She then completed the Legal Practice Course, graduating with Distinction, and subsequently undertook her Training Contract at a regional firm in the East Midlands. During this time, Leah completed seats in Private Client, focusing on Wills, Probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and in Property, with a focus on residential matters.

Leah qualified as a solicitor in March 2025. She is known for her empathetic, compassionate, and practical approach, and she is dedicated to supporting clients through challenging situations and to achieving the best possible outcomes.

Outside of work, Leah enjoys cooking and baking, spending time with friends and family, and travelling to new places.

Muminah previously work for a firm in Essex in their Private Client and Court of Protection department and has experied working with Lasting powers of attorney, court of protection deputyship matters and property and affairs management.

Muminah approaches legal challenges with a strong commitment to keeping client’s needs at the centre of her work.

Outside of work, Muminah enjoys designing illustrations and is an avid reader of crime thriller books.


David Newing

David Newing is the Finance Manager at Culver Law having joined the firm in October 2023.

David started his legal accountancy career with a firm of solicitors local to where he lives having progressed his way up from office junior. In later years he has worked for a couple of large accountancy firms, a large London firm of solicitors before re-joining the firm where it all started from as accounts manager where he was employed for 19 years before leaving in 2023.

Outside of work he enjoys travelling, socialising with family and friends. He also coaches a grassroots football team in his spare time.


Prior to this, Emily spent five years working with vulnerable Deaf children and adults as a communication support worker and accessible content creator. Emily is a CODA and is bilingual in English and British Sign Language.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys learning languages and attending rock and metal concerts.


Devon Brown

She obtained a History Degree from the University of Bristol and has completed a Master’s Degree in Law and hopes to commence the Solicitor Apprenticeship in September 2024.

Prior to this, Devon worked as a Healthcare Assistant for University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Her deep understanding of empathetic and compassionate care supports her ability to form meaningful connections with clients.

She decided to follow the apprenticeship route to qualification rather than to attend university as she is committed to continuing her education alongside gaining practical work experience.

Prior to this, Tanisha volunteered at a local youth Centre and started her own businesses selling bespoke artwork. Tanisha’s strong interpersonal skills and experience working closely with her customers and in a team has strengthened her ability to build rapport and connect with clients in a meaningful way.

She started her career as a Legal Secretary at a law firm in Bedfordshire, and then onto a top-tier London law firm in their Private Client department, where she worked for many years. Leanne’s main strengths are her ability to connect with clients along with a strong attention to detail.

Holly joined Culver Law in February 2025 as a Legal Assistant in our Court of Protection team. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Birmingham in 2023. Her degree encouraged a strong awareness of the legal dimensions of moral and ethical issues, which she finds useful to apply to her Court of Protection work.

Following her degree, Holly began her career working as a Legal Assistant at a well-established law firm in Cambridge. In this role, Holly developed a desire to support clients and their families through the legal process. She always strives to have a friendly approach and a positive impact.

Holly has experience in assisting solicitors dealing with complex and sensitive matters, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and professionalism. She hopes to continue developing her career in law and has found a passion in Court of Protection work.

Outside of work, Holly loves countryside walks with her family dogs, cooking and designing her home.

Samantha is a Legal Receptionist at Culver Law, where she plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional first point of contact for clients and supporting the legal team. Her role ensures smooth communication and efficient operations within the firm.

Samantha studied Law at Coventry University and gained valuable experience volunteering with the Citizens Advice Witness Service, where she supported vulnerable witnesses and shadowed colleagues handling sensitive cases. Prior to joining the firm, she spent two years as a team leader for young people, building strong rapport and leading sessions on life skills and government topics.

Her background in 1-1 services has reinforced her commitment to delivering exceptional client care, ensuring that every interaction is handled with empathy, clarity and respect. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys playing six-a-side football, travelling, and running. He has completed two half marathons and is aiming to run his first full marathon in 2026.

Sara Khan

Sara joined Culver Law in February 2026 as a Legal Assistant in the Court of Protection Team.

Her legal journey began by studying at Cardiff University and graduating with a First Class Law Degree in 2021. Sara then became a Paid Independent Advocate for a charity, driven by her passion to ensure everyone has a voice and their rights are upheld, particularly in care settings. Sara qualified as an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate in 2023, keeping her clients’ best interests at the heart of every decision made. This experience ignited her enthusiasm to specialise as a Court of Protection lawyer.

Sara progressed her legal career as a Court of Protection Paralegal at a well-established law firm in London. She has over two years’ experience assisting with property and financial deputyship and trust matters. She is currently studying for her SQE2 exams with the view to qualify in September 2026.

Sara’s key strengths are her empathy, communication and problem-solving skills. She adopts a friendly yet professional approach and strives to go above and beyond for her clients.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors and going to the gym.


Lydia Michael

Lydia joined Culver Law in February 2026 as a case manager to support her clients who are predominantly under the Court of Protection jurisdiction on behalf of the professional financial affairs and property deputies.

Lydia has over 15 years’ experience across several leading law and has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in other areas of the Private Client sector, including supporting clients under a Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPA) as well as financially managing and providing professional advice to clients under a Personal Injury Trust.

Lydia predominantly works with Personal Injury solicitors on client cases still being litigated. Here, Lydia makes strong trusting connections and relationships with the clients and their respective families to guide them through this difficult period.

Lydia brings a diverse perspective from other sectors including experience as a health and welfare case manager, branch manager within the banking industry and in Italy as a teacher of English to students of all ages.

Outside of work, Lydia plays competitive netball and enjoys long countryside walks, interior design and decoration and gardening (weather permitting!).


Jennifer Trussler

Jenn joined Culver Law in March 2026 as an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client team.

She completed her LLB and LPC at the University of Law before training with a national firm and qualifying as a Solicitor in May 2020.

Jenn advises on a wide range of issues including the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Estate Administration, and lifetime succession planning. Jenn has particular experience supporting clients through complex or sensitive family circumstances, and is known for her personable approach and ability to explain technical matters in a straightforward and reassuring way.

Jenn is a full member of STEP, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards in trust and estate practice. She is also working towards becoming a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers, the recognised gold standard for legal professionals who support vulnerable and older clients.

Outside of work, Jenn enjoys cooking, travelling, paddle boarding along the South Coast, and spending time with her family and her dog.
